Police officers and all other versions of deputized white people have always been able to kill unarmed black people with impunity. I would never try to play that down, however, we are in a very strange place in our history as African-Americans in which we are being led to believe that the loss of black life isn't worth our collective outrage unless it is taken by a white person.
